WEEKLY NEWS #1: FACEBOOK IS STILL GROWING VERY FAST IN ASIA PACIFIC
This Q1 of 2018 in our APAC region, Facebook is still growing double-digits on both revenue and users. Advertising revenue rose by 62% year-over-year up to US$2.1 billion, representing 18% of the total revenue across all markets.
The “Monthly Active Users” also rose by 22%, reaching 873 million in the Asia Pacific region, or about 40% of Facebook’s total.

WEEKLY NEWS #2: BETTER INSTAGRAM STORIES & MORE FACEBOOK LIVE

To increase the engagement on the Live format, Facebook is rolling out a new “Premiere” format: pre-recorded content to the Live feed. Flagged as such in the Live feed, these videos are seen as “trailers” for the actual Live videos to come. Let’s see how users will react to them!

WEEKLY NEWS #3: MORE MONEY TO FACEBOOK WATCH CREATORS
With Facebook Watch, Zuckerberg’s firm is definitely aiming to be the alternative to Youtube for video content creators. In that regard, Facebook must show appealing monetization features.
Currently in a test phase, all creators will soon benefit from the following advertising formats to appear in their content:
- Pre-roll ads: hello old friend.
- Trailers before Watch episodes: a contextually relevant pre-roll.
- Mid-roll ads: but more precisely executed than on Youtube, of course.
- Pre-publishing check for monetization eligibility: time is money!
